Don't Seat Burris!

I know that it has been awhile since I have last posted (the holidays can stop anyone), but I thought I would start off the new year right with a demand of the new congress to not seat the tainted Jr. Senator of Illinois Burris.  I can't believe that the democrats and especially the Republicans of the Senate are rolling over and letting the Rob Blagojevich scandal subside and allow him to appoint a Senator even though he should have lost his right to do so.  The more we allow tainted officials into government the less efficient government will be for the people.  I predict that we will see lots of special interest groups getting kick backs and tax breaks in Illinois in the coming years thanks to the newly elected Jr. Senator of Illinois.

Terrorism at Fort Dix Adverted

I am sick of liberals whining about the counter measures our government is taking to preempt terrorism in this country.  Do they not realize the protection that has been granted by these measures?  Today was a perfect example.  The 5 men that were going to attack Fort Dix with AK47s and M16s were found guilty and will be heading to prison for a very long time.  This is great because, thanks to counter measures, they were caught before they had a chance to hurt anyone.  This is just one example.  Ever since we have had the counter measure put in place by Bush's Homeland Security Office we haven't had another attack at all on US soil and that is something be proud of and feel safe around.  So for all their whining I am happy to know that there are good things like what happened to these Fort Dix plotters that keep the liberals shut up for at least a little while.

Ponzi Schemes

I was blown away when I heard about this massive 50 billion dollar ponzi scheme over the weekend because I really thought that people were smarter than this.  I mean even if a person is rich they can still be a crook and you need to do your due diligence before investing with them.  I don't like the idea of the SEC, I like the idea of people learning from their mistakes and the mistakes of other people.  I think having this Ponzi scheme as an example and the punishment this guy recieves (which needs to be Severe) will help to stop this in the future.  We need to have fear in the consumer and the theif so that the theif rethinks his plan to rip people off and the consumer is very, very careful before investing in something that sounds risky.

Iraq Disrespect

I am the first to admit that things have not been perfect in this Iraq War (name me one war that went perfectly according to plan), but there are things that are good and the overall result was/is a freer Iraq with freer people.  So why do Iraqis constantly level their problems on the US?  This recent show of disrespect by the TV reporter throwing his shoe at Mr. Bush is just another sign of how these people don't understand the positive changes we've brought their country and only focus on the negatives (that are in fact a result of their own blood letting).  I get really annoyed when, first someone attacks our president and second they have the nerve to blame us for their society.  We are trying to help and if you can't accept our help then maybe a dictator is what you need.

Funny Blagojevich T-shirts

One thing I love about this country is that anytime someone does something bad there are a million humorist to turn it on a dime and make jokes of it. Recently many of these humorist have been turning to t-shirts to also make some money from their jokes. I think this is great especially when it is at the expense of the all too often corrupt democrats like our friend Governer Blagojevich. See below for two of my favorites that I found.

The Bailout is coming!

Despite cries from 6 out of every 10 Americans, the DEMOCRAT controlled congress is going ahead with the auto bailout and giving our tax paying dollars to companies that have been robbing us with their cars for years.  Well now they get to rob us with our government as well.  It just annoys me that this is what big government does.  They take my money and then use it for things I hate like giving money to these companies.  That is why big government needs to stop.  If there is opportunity invest will come, we don't need to force the hand of the market and try to save these companies because in the end even the government can't stop the invisible hand of capitalism.

The Next War: Indian vs Pakistan

There is no doubt in my mind that Indian and Pakistan will be the start of the next great World War.  Both of these countries are sworn enemies of each other and both are pitched to start a battle over the recent attacks in Mumbia.  Now usually I wouldn't care because it is there problem, but since both countries have nuclear weapons, this becomes the problem of the world and the problem of the US.  What is really scary about this is that there is so much anger between the two sides that I don't doubt that one of them will go to the nuclear option and really start one of the most dangerous events the world has ever seen.  I hope that we can step in soon, before this administration is finished, and defuse the situation because I don't think having WW3 right now is the best thing for our country or the world.

Holder Broke the Law

Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, is a law breaker and shouldn't be allowed in office. His pardon of Mark Rich was unlike anything else done before. There was no gray area with the pardon, Rich was guilty and had fled the law to avoid going to jail. Now it is true that the snake oil salesmen Clinton actually signed the pardon, but both you and I know that Holder could have done something to stop it. Do we really want someone like this in the office charged with uploading the highest laws in the nation? I don't think so, I think that it is time to take a closer look at these Obama officials and make sure that they are really as "clean" as Obama and many of the liberal pundits claim they are. If this is just on the surface for Holder, what sinister act lies deeper?

The Debt Mountain

It is time that everyone learned a little about basic finances and pulled themselves out of their own debt issues. I am tired of the government stepping into the private sector and having to save companies like the auto-makers and banks because they have hired people to incompetent to do their own jobs. I think that we should let the market correct those errors. If a bank screwed up it should fail to be taught a less for its leaders and the leaders of institutions around it, that if you take undue risk you can fail. Not that if you take risk that the government will save you and your corporate jet. OK, so corporations don't deserve saving, we all agree on that. But I also think that consumers don't deserve saving either. I know that is painful, but people need to learn to control their spending habits and we can't expect them to do that without a sharp poke that says "hey time to stop spending more than you have and time to start saving!" If we keep coddling these people they will never learn and continue to milk the tax payers like you and I while they reap the benefits of government assistance. I hate the thought of someone that didn't need help taking that money from myself and my family. If you really do need help that is fine for awhile, but there is only so long that you can be aided at some point you/everyone needs to get back to work and be productive in this society. It is time that we all showed a little gumption and brought this country back to its former glory.

Consumers and Black Friday

Consumer driven events like Black Friday I find totally unacceptable. It seems like on these days it gets more annoying, or even more dangerous for people that want to go out and enjoy the normality that society affords. I mean if I want to go see a movie, forget about it there are a million women going to see any movie that is playing that day. And don't even think about trying to get around traffic if you are going downtown. What annoys me the most is that it isn't something that people really want, it is something that we have addicted ourselves too and cannot undo. I am sure that people would much rather have a measure experience instead of all trying to cram into one store to get the last "tickle my Elmo" or whatever it is. I would hope in the future this holiday wains and we start to be more measured with our holiday shopping and plan for it instead of just rushing out the door whenever some monkey on TV says jump.

Veteran Calendar

Honoring our veterans, those that have chosen to give everything to this country, is a tradition that I am very proud of for this country.  That is why I love things like this Vietnam calendar.  It recognizes the scarfices men made for this country and to bring freedom to the darkest reaches of the planet.  This calendar is perfect for those that went to the war and those that just want to remember it.

Will Hugo Chavez Release Power?

In Venezuela there is a election coming up that is going to decide if Hugo Chavez is really as good to the people of his country that he claims he is.  This is the election that decided whether or not he can be president.  The famously, anti-American president is not doing too well in his own country and the citizens understand that this is their time to bring someone to power that is more for the people and of the people.  What I love about this is that when he loses (assuming he doesn't rig the election), it is going to show how awful he is because he won't want to leave office.  He claims that we are evil and devils because we live in a great country like the USA, but he is the real evil-doer and is going to get a taste of what democracy is really like, I can't wait.

Memorable Qoutes

Time Magazine put together an interesting list of qoutes from presidents that don't necessarly reflect them in the best light.  Of course there are some classics on here like Nixon's "I am not a crook,"  but the real ringer to me is Bill Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."  Why is the best of the entire list?  Well because it is a flat out lie.  While qoutes from the likes of Nixon where lies, they were really half-truths since he understood how to play the game.  Clinton was different, he was smug and believed he wouldn't get caught and that is why he abused his power like he did.  Because of this abuse by a democrat I feel that we aren't far off from seeing the same thing from Obama.  Maybe next year there will be a qoute list with Obama's name at the top of it.

Conservatives against the Bailout

I have said this once before and I feel that this thing needs to be said again - as a fundamental part of conservative values, we must be opposed to the bail out.  This bailout goes against everything we believe in, it basically strangles the invisible hand of capitalist markets and by doing so it destroys our chance (yours and mine) at having a part of the American Dream (because it will no longer exist).  I urge everyone to message their congressmen and senator to tell them how much you disapprove of the bailout.  The more that is uncovered on the bailout, the more dangerous and awful it is going to be for this country.  We must stop it.

Paling and GOP Governers Conference

I really enjoyed what Palin had to say at the governers conference.  She really spoke to the fact that the governers on the GOP side were really about passing laws in their states that really represented the people and not Washington political agendas.  She also said that the states need to set an example of cutting spending to prove that it can be done in all levels of government.  I think this is so right on.  Small government that works for the people is what our party was founded on and we need to be true to these roots if we are going to be sure to be the party that takes back the white house and senate races in 2010 and 2012
