Bobby Jindal - How do I feel?

So it is no secret that the decision makers in our Republican party are trying to groom the Mr. Rogers like personality of Bobby Jindal into something bigger, maybe even a run at the White House in 2012.  But I am not sure how I feel about that.  It feels like we are just trying to copy what the democrats did with Obama this year instead of doing something that is true to our party.  I mean I really don't know anything about Jindal, but what about the congressial Republicans we have had in office for multiple terms that know how Washington works?  I mean we need someone with more experience in government.  I am going to start reading more on Jindal to see how he is doing, but I think it is much too soon to promote someone so young.

Egypt is not safe

Egypt as a country has spent lots of money and time trying to make people believe it is a safe place for tourists and to hold on to sanity in the middle east.  However I feel that the country's grip on the region is slipping and that northern part of Africa is slipping into decay like the rest of the countries around it.  It is sad really because they were so moderate and moving toward a more democratic system like what we cherish in the US.  I hope that after today's attacks that they will look for more guidance from the US in helping them turn around their country.  We have helped others in the past and I know that we can help make Egypt safe for all.

The NY Post Cartoon is not Racist

This is what happens when you get a bunch of over sensitive liberals running the country, you get the NAACP claiming racism when there is none to be had. The theory is that the monkey is supposed to represent Obama and is therefore racist because that would be comparing a black man to a monkey. THE TRUTH is that the cartoon isn't about Obama's race is it about the insanity that the stimulus bill represents - the idea being that it is so convoluted a monkey must of wrote it. They are not saying Obama is a monkey they are instead saying that the legislation is a monkey. I don't know why liberals always need to make a big deal out of the littlest things. I mean seriously? Is this what we really need to be spending our time on?

Ted and Sarah for 2012 coffee mug

As many of my readers have noted I am not into the idea of a stimulus plan so of course today was not a good day for me and I think today is an even worse day for the country since we won't be able to pull ourselves out of this recession and will just waste more money on boondoggle big democratic government projects.  That is why when I saw this mug I just had to smile and hope for the future.  It's a mug of Ted Nugent and Sarah Palin Ticket for 2012.  I am not sure I would support that election ticket, but at least I got a good laugh out of it and I am sure it would be a lot better than the current administration.

Remove Roland Burris

It is obvious to me that nothing good can come from the short term of the Jr. Senator from Illinois, Roland Burris.  Whether or not he will admit it, he had something to do with the scandal surrounding the now deposed governor of the state.  There had to be some underground trading and illegal exchanges of money because Rod was so very corrupt that he would not let that senate seat go for nothing.  I am sure that Burris will deny and deny until the day of his conviction, I just hope that justice can be served and changes can be made in this corruption within the democratic party.  As much as I don't like the democrats, I don't like the idea of government being corrupt more.

Obama's Stimulus Plan

So Obama was able to force his stimulus through the congress and now we are going to be footing the bill on all kinds of democratic boondoggles as they try to "jump start" this economy with concrete and roads. I really don't like this idea and I am worried about all of my money that they are spending and not helping this country get any better. Why is it that Democrats always do something like this? Not help the world, but instead just through money at it uselessly. I do hope that this economic plan works, but I know that it won't because it is just not designed to bring people out of the terrible crushing debt, but only give money to more government wasteful programs. Obama it is time to really pull from the right side of the aisle to make sure we get some business men getting the world to drive business again.

Too Much Spending in the Stimulus Plan

I gotta say that there is just a bit too much of pork spending in the Obama plan.  I've been saying all along that spending is not the fiscally correct way to bring this country out of the recession that we are in.  What we need to do is empower the everyday citizen to bring this country around.  If the government wasn't crippling us with taxes we would have that income to go out and spend, start small businesses and generate jobs.  It is really that simple.  Give the power back to the people and that will allow this country to once again become a capitolist free market that can grow with the ingenuity of all American power!

Corruption Runs Deep in Dem Party

From Daschle to every other member of the Democratic Party it seems that corruption runs deep with these ones. I have to smile a little bit because now that the Dems are thrust into the limelight everyone is starting to find all their dirty little secrets and exposing them for the frauds that they are. I think it is great and I have to wonder what secrets reside in Obama's closet that are going to come out when someone starts to dig into his past...

The Steel Town Pittsburgh Hat

That was a great game!  I was really gunning for the Steelers because of the tradition and family honor that the Rooney family brings to the game, but I really was just blown away by the nail-biting action in it.  It's been a long time since I can say that I've watched a football game the whole way through and this was one of those games.  Well I guess it hasn't been that long, really since the last superbowl, but that is at least a year.  Now the Pittsburgh Steelers have made history as the first team with 6 titles.  That's impressive in it's own right, but in a league with parity built in, that is a magical accomplishment.  Anyway, I saw this hat and I thought that there are probably 100,000 in Pittsburgh wearing this hat very proudly and very coldy right now.

Voting - Progress in Iraq

To me there is nothing more reassuring than the elections that are happening in Iraq this week to prove that we have done a good job in bringing peace and democracy to that country. I know that it is a long road for those people and for our troops, but we are seeing the fruits of our labors in that country and very soon that country will be a shining example of democracy in the Middle East for other countries to aspire to and look to for advice and growth. I really think that the Bush policies enacted to bring about these changes will really bring democracy to the traditionally feudal Middle East.

Pork in the Spending Package

I have turned and changed a little bit because I am for this idea of spending now as I was completely opposed to it before.  But unlike the democrats, I think that there needs to be major changes to this legislation.  For one there needs to be more money going to the people.  Stop giving money to the banks and start giving the tax relief to the people that have worked very hard to keep this economy going.  In short I think we should do the revision proposed by McCain.  He may be out of the White House but he still has the best ideas when it comes to the economy.

Obama and Abortion

Quickly into his short presidency Obama has already overturned much of the work Bush has done to build moral character in this country and one of those key decisions was the to start funding abortion clinics again.  I understand why Obama thinks this is right because the left has been asking him to do this since day one, but I doubt he understands the consequences of what he is doing.  In Europe, where abortion has been legal for some time now, they are starting to see a rise of girls getting 2 and 3 abortions before they turn 30!  Is this what we want for the US?  I don't want the US to turn into a sex crazed culture that encourages women to be loose with their morals and abandon their responsibilities, those women can go and live in Europe.  We need to build stronger character if we are going to be an example to the world and what Obama is doing is only moving us away from that strong moral center and closer to a society that lacks rules, governance and most importantly decency.

Not Happy Letting Timothy Geithner At My Money...

So the liberal "thrill of Obama" is now over and I think it is time to get down to business and really look deeply into the people that he bringing in to help run this country. One that I am very unhappy about is Timothy Geithner for Treasury Secretary. This man proceeded over one of the branches of the Fed during one of the worst declines in US production, US wage growth, and US Job growth. What kind of system rewards someone that has consistantly failed so often? I think that someone that fails this many times should be shipped abroad and given a paper pushing job that can't hurt anyone. Don't give him the keys to the economy! I have heard estimates that his bailout for the economy may cost in the range of 3 trillion dollars, now who misses Bush liberals?

FDNY Mug

So to continue along the vein I was speaking of yesterday about heroes.  I wanted to present this FDNY travel mug that I found.  A very nice mug that shows off the logo of the true heroes of New York.  I am very proud of the first responders in New York and hope that first responders in the rest of the country can live up to the example they have set in New York with tragedy after tragedy.

Heros in New York

Watching the way New York city emergency response officials handled the plane crash in the Hudson this past week, I have nothing but respect for the types of people that city produces.  Time and time again they are challenged with adversity and seem to pull through with flying colors.  Thank you to all the emergency responders in New York, you are a cut above the rest.
