Drug Lord's Son Ends Violence

I just finished reading this article on Time.com and I really think it is something we should hold up and celebrate. It talks about the son of Pablo Escobar and how he is trying to do good in Columbia to break the legacy of family violence. It is going to take a lot of work but I really appreciate what he is doing in trying to reform his country to make it safe again.

Drug Leniency Creates More Problems

According to FoxNews, Drug growers are starting to become more bold and are planting their cash crops in national parks near tourist attractions.  The problem with this other than people making and selling drugs is that these drug dealers are protecting their crops with guns against other drug dealers which means that people are getting attacked in the cross fire. This is not acceptable and this is something we should all be upset about. Our national parks that have been here longer than we have and should be preserved for future generations - not destroyed by terrorists.

Colorado Basically Legalizing Drugs

Apparently there is a proposed legislation in Colorado to start making the fine for possessing a small amount of marijauna to just $1.  Now for most people (not me) that seems fine since our prisons are overcrowded now anyway (still don't understand why we can't build new ones) but what they don't realize is that this is just the first step down a very dark path towards getting drugs of all kinds into the legal realm and that means getting them into the hands of our children.  I just can't believe that everyone in that state is just trying to fight this.  This is our children that we are talking about.  Protecting them is protecting the future.

The Drug War in Mexico

The drug war in Mexico is out of hand and it seems that the Democrats that are controlling congress and the White House are doing nothing about it other than blaming US Citizen for our drug habits. I mean seriously let's destroy the source before we start blaming people in the US for all the violence around the world. The Mexicans need to take all that money we give them and start to crack down on these gangs and cartels.
